About Cococello : Deb Pang Davis:
Cococello is Deb Pang Davis, an independent designer with a passion for structure, a head for making sense out of chaos, and a love for beautiful things. She works with individuals and companies in crafting classy, smart experiences online and in print.
With big dreams and eyes wide, Deb Pang Davis left her home towns (near Rochester, NY) and earned a BFA in Photography at The University of the Arts (Philadelphia) with a minor in film. Though she left to study design, her dreams were squashed like a bug when in her first year at school she was told she would never make it as a designer. Crushed and determined to be true to her creative spirit, she found comfort and magic in Fellini, Hitchcock, Penn, Welles, Atget,Frank, Ritts, and Brodovitch, among others.
Though she did not know it then, still images, moving images and design was her future.
The road to being a designer was a rather squiggly path but once she found her niche, Deb honed her skills and earned her street creds quickly.
She has never settled for average or jobs that eat her soul. Luckily for her, Deb has always worked for people and companies that strive for excellence and was fortunate to discover her niche early: Editorial Design. Timing is everything: she also entered the workforce at a time when she would never have to wear panty hose or the pant suit.
Before starting her own business, Deb has been fortunate to be a part of award-winning editorial teams as either Art Director or Designer for such magazines as National Geographic Traveler and Virtuoso Life. She has also worked for several national newspapers.
She is the eldest of three and while her family may not really understand what it is that she does, they are just happy knowing she can make money and have fun doing what she loves.
